The company has developed from its early days as a specialist roofing contractor and now offers a complete package from its Contracting Company in Darlaston and the Roofing Company in Perry Barr.
Although originally Midlands based with offices in Birmingham & Coventry, the roofing business expanded quickly in the late 1980’s, working closely with Jaguar Car Plants throughout Coventry & Birmingham, as well as undertaking ongoing maintenance with Unipart on a reactive maintenance basis.
Working with Coventry City Council produced further expansion during the late 80’s and early 90’s, along with contracts from numerous Local Authorities around the Midlands, including Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Worcester and many outlying authorities.
The early 90’s saw the development into building refurbishment, maintenance and construction, with adaptations for Coventry and Birmingham CC, New Build for Studio Press in Birmingham City Centre and a 4 Year Term Maintenance Contract for Wychavon District Council in the late 90’s.
With growth year on year, the company undertook larger and more complex projects in both Roofing and Construction, gaining a huge amount of experience in roofing Asbestos Removal, working closely with the H&S and being awarded a Smart Grant for the Wraps System, dealing with encapsulated high pressure water jet cleaning of the asbestos roof areas around the UK.
A major reroofing scheme was undertaken for Unipart at Cowley, which enabled the company to continue their supplies as a ‘Live’ just in time service to the motor industry. The ability for Lane Contractors to maintain a ‘live’ environment for our clients has proven to be a key factor in contract awards.
The company has worked for and continues to work with a great many key organisations as well as private companies. Some of these are the NHS, Health Care sectors, Education, Leisure, Retail, Property Managers and a host of National Blue Chip clients, for who we undertake repeat business on a regular basis.
